For the most part, Client Packs are a Waste of Time and Money
Well like many
things it is not a matter of black and white, but rather shades of gray .....
one can make points pro and point con ...... so I'll get one small mater out of
the way first. For those of you who believe in client packs AND are doing
client packs correctly ..... if you are using good sanitaziable nail files in
your client packs and paying $2.50 ... $1.99 .... $1.59 ....$.99 .... for good
sanitaziable files ..... then save yourself some money and next time purchase
the sanitaziable STERIFILES for a mere .59¢ at
http://www.ollieninh.com/nailstore.html
NEXT, before we begin .... there are some who are not clear about Washable vs Sanitize vs Disinfect vs Sterilize....... SO they need to read KILLING THOSE COOTIES, written be nail professional and noted nail educator, Diana Bonn. Click Here for that.
NOW, we are ready for commentary.
NO, we aren't ...
first our own actions on the subject, right. My wife goes with the
Washable crowd. She does much more acrylics than natural nails and uses
the Washable black files. So that's it for her, use the file, wash and dry
it ...... after a few uses ... toss it. Do you like inexpensive washable
files .... you can buy them for .24¢ at
http://www.ollieninh.com/nailstore.html
As for me, you
should know by now that I stopped doing nails in business two years ago for
reasons of health and no longer do nails for MONEY ... but still do a lot of
natural nail work on family and friends. I go with SPONGE files.
Why? One is yes they are sanitizable. And two is I do a lot of
childrens nails and with sponge files EVEN I can't cut them. Want
sanitizable sponge files for just .59¢, YOU GUESSED IT

OK, NOW we are ready
for commentary.
Client packs is a hot concept right now. I am surprised how hot. I
go to the local discount nail supply store and the owner just received over a
thousand little client pack plastic boxes to sell. I go to a local
discount PoorWork shop and notice they have a bookcase against the back wall
with about 200 plastic client pack boxes stacked in it.
WHY?
I think in most cases, because of expectations and appearances.
I think in most cases the germs are still getting through.
Number 1. Most are just washable items. Many are not even washing
them. So then the client pack just means that you are not putting Mrs Rs
germs onto Mrs T. You still have Mrs Rs items in the box .... like a
hothouse veggie farm, so when Mrs R returns her boxed implements are covered
with gazillions of germs.
Number 2. What are you going to put in those boxes. Going to include nippers. I see where they sell client quality nippers for about $7.95 each. That is up to you, but I'm not going to use lousy $7.95 nippers on clients ... nail school was a long time ago. I use Antoine of Paris, the finest and most expensive nippers made and even at the bargain price found at ( you know where ) , I'm not going to put them in each box.
