NIPPER EDUCATION 101

QUESTION:
I want to own the best nippers, but can only budget for 1 nipper right now,
which should I buy?
HERE IS WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY ...
The #14, 1/2 jaw,
many techs own only a #14,
later also get a #16, full jaw,
most techs can do without the #12, 1/4 jaw.

BUT WE DISAGREE..
(that is why you shop us right?)...
We say the  #12, 1/4 jaw,
many techs own only a #12,
the heck with the other 2.
WHY NOT THE FULL ... because the truth is that techs are buying the full
to use on acrylic .... & that is wrong ... for acrylic you need to buy a
specially constructed HEAVY DUTY acrylic nipper.

Jaw size is the length of the cutting edge.
Jaw Sizes are approximately the following lengths:
1/4 Jaw  = 3/4mm (3/16"),  1/2 Jaw = 5/6mm (1/4"),  Full Jaw = 7/8mm (5/16")

Jaw size in mind ... the 1/4 has the smallest cutting edge and will easily
reach the small nips and tucks.

And what is a Lap-Joint - What is a Box-Joint

Below is a Lap Joint Cuticle Nipper. The nipper is constructed like a scissor and peened together.
This type of nipper construction was the construction that all nippers had in years past .
Now, some of the more expensive nippers, such as most of the models of Antoine,
are using Box Joint construction for even more lasting strength.

This is how a LAP-JOINT nipper is constructed

Below is a Box Joint Cuticle Nipper.
You see that one blade's joint fits through the other.
This locks the blades into position and maintains a more stable blade alignment.
This type of joint is superior and more expensive .

This is how a BOX-JOINT nipper is constructed

Cuticle Nippers and Acrylic Nippers are constructed differently.
A Cuticle Nipper's jaw is very fine to allow close cutting of the cuticles,
but could break if used for acrylic applications

And Why Cobalt Inox ?

Because Cobalt Inox is the HARDEST, SHARPEST,
MOST DURABLE steel you can use in making a nipper.

Care Hint:
Place them in your santi-jar handle down ...
always avoid damage to the cutting end
or if you place them in your jar cutting end down
then have a cushion in the bottom of the jar

Care Hint:
After sanitizing and drying your nippers
very lightly oil with cuticle oil at the end of the day

      Care Hint:
 Protect your nippers
store them in some sort of protective case or bag

The most common method of damaging your nippers
is to drop them on the floor.

.
Question:  Why did we pick Antoine de Paris & Nghai to sell ??

Ok, excellent question.
I have factories in Pakistan mailing me $2 nippers to examine.
They want to sell me all the nippers I want for $2 each.
But ya know what... they are the same Pakistan made nippers I see in the
drugstores ... Cross and Revlon for sale at $ 12 ... $15 .... $18.  $ 20
They are NOT quality.

We have nippers all over the salon....
must be at least 6 in the house, and even in the car glovebox.
The drugstore nippers are cheap stainless steel overpriced junk
that rusts and gets dull quick.

So I went the the discount shops .... no no, don't laugh.
They do a volume business, they use their nippers constantly.
Their nippers have to perform and they have to last.
They are using Antoine de Paris & VIP & Nghai..
That's why.

Consider this:  I can buy the $2 nippers and sell them for $14.95
and make more money than I make selling the cobalt inox nippers.
But money is not my only objective.

YOU SHOULD THINK VALUE
